Can one replace the original chainrings on a pre-Ultra Torque Campagnolo Centaur compact crank (the alloy one with the five arm spider) with “standard” 110 bc chainrings such as TA, Stronglight or FSA? The current crop of Campy UT compact cranks have an offset 110 bc. I believe the “hidden” bolt is a 108. Even though there is no "hidden" bolt on the older, alloy Centaur model, I was wondering if Campagnolo might have screwed around with things anyway. Thanks.

Question re pre-Ultra Torque Campagnolo crank
-
If memory serves, the only chainrings that had the offset bolt hole were for the ones for the hidden bolt style. I know that I did use some Salsa chainrings on older Campy cranks without problems.

I've used Stronglight chainrings with my 'pre-Ultra Torgue' Campy with no problems.

I have used TA chainrings on Campy pre ultra-torque cranks as well, for 'cross, I think I had a (double) setup 34/46 on one bike and a single 44 on the other, the chainrings fit and worked great on Chorus cranks. QBP also used to make 110 bolt pattern chainrings.

I have a 52 TA ring on my ~2000 Chorus crankset - no problem fitting it.
