SunTour Superbe derailleurs

   I just took one partially apart to see if I could mix and match a Superbe body to a long cage AR body. Well, it wouldn't be easy. But in the meantime, I got to see the guts of one beautiful derailleur! It uses a race of tiny balls between the cage and the body and an impressive spiral wound spring.

   To bad I have no current need for a short arm derailleur. Those Superbes are truly sweet.

   had that on a Cinelli Super Corsa I bought in 1989 or so. awesome stuff, over engineered in many cases. in the drawer or did you find in somewhere?

   the shifters were trick, too. I took it all off and installed sante because the index shifting actually worked. cassette wheel was a big improvement, too. wish I kept that bike
