New stoker for the tandem

A runner, cute, fit, first time for her on a bike in over two years and not much cycling even back then. Her first time on a tandem. Made all the new stoker mistakes that make them so endearing... we went out for an easy spin but she thought she had to hammer it the whole time. I had to keep telling her "Let off the throttle!" Funny how new stokers think they have to put in a 100% effort. I made the ride short enough that we were still on speaking terms when we got back

What did you do with the old stoker?

My old stoker and I put in a respectable 40+ miles of moderate training today. Getting ready for our 4-day tour in Santa Ynez.

    Assume you'll answer old-stoker question.

My wife is also a runner with a strong kick. When she decides to light-up the turbos we are GONE!

Glad you have a fit riding partner. She'll learn pretty quickly.

The former stoker bailed from that activity some years ago and full out bailed about three years ago.

I'm looking forward to some group/ social rides with her on the tandem-- I think she'll enjoy the dynamic.
