vtrich,
I was pedaling in your area last Sunday. Pleasanr Valley, Upper Pleasant Valley to Jeff, north on 108 to Bakersfield, west to Fairfield, south to Fletcher and Cambridge, and Route 15 back to Underhill. Started/finished at the school.

Spud, I guess you could say Albuquerque is the one real city in NM, I went to H.S. there, but I think at that time it was like 35K population? I recall you talking about when the Hwy. was closed. Which happens pretty quick in ABQ due to the bad drivers down there, only takes a couple of inches of Snow to create total chaos on the roads, here up north, we know how to deal with it.
See SWG, NM really is a 3rd world country, architsu even left it off the map!!! LOL! My wife is teaching at the Eldorado School BTW, that area is growing like crazy
Steelbike - pearland can't be that unexciting, you have Papacitos and other great tex mex at your doorstep ;-)
Nice work on that map.
"we could give a star rating to the quality of riding along a brief synopsis and maybe quality of life? "
I'd suggest including a pic of our best ride instead. When you hover over the map location the pic would show.

Rhode Island, great riding both on the road and in the woods
CK, do you know of any websites with good routes? I've been spending a lot of time around Round Lake Beach. Perhaps I haven't been aggressive enough as far as looking for good routes.
Btw, I went camping over at Washington Island and that place is a cyclists paradise! Nice roads all over the island with hardly any cars around. Too bad I didn't have my bike with me...
Velo Club Roubaix has a lot of different rides on their website.
http://veloclubroubaix.blogspot.com/
Most of them start in the Highland park / Lake Forest area, but you should be able to use them to strong some stuff together.
You can also play pot luck with mapmyride.com or Strava.
Thinline, I live off Pleasant Valley, 1 mile past the Center. Needless to say, I've ridden that loop numerous times,...and I could never warm up to that climb above Fletcher,...kinda stings. I have the Notch in my backyard, and ride it almost every week. Similar to you with the Gap in your backyard.
Veloclub Roubaix - they got any cobbles in Chicago?
I miss riding on cobbles.
So - it seems I've not been completely successful in setting the map up so that anyone can edit it. I tried again just now, and I think that as long as you have a Google account to which you are signed in, you should be able to add your location on your own. If you don't have a Google account, I think you're out of luck.
For the moment I'm happy to go back through and add more locations since I updated it yesterday, but obviously I don't really want to make that a full time job. Would appreciate someone trying to add their own location to see if it works, and/or suggestions from someone smarter than me for how to set the map up so that others can edit it.
Anyway - here's the link one more time.
Hope it works correctly this time....
vtrich,
Yeah, that climb is an odd one. Not long, and really only steep in that one spot kinda early on. But for some reason, it does take a little bite out of you.
I usually head up the Notch a couple times each year. Great climb, and just gorgeous scenery, especialy once you pass the upper lots. I love the way the forest canopy closes over the road up there.
It's been quite the summer here, eh? Hoping for good fall weather into November, then let it snow, snow, snow to make up for last season!
I mostly live in la-la land. But it you must know, Auburn Ca.
Archistu - I was able to edit the map using my google account.
Caroline County, Va
Thanks, Jacobus. Good to know I got it right this time!
I think I managed to add Helsinki Finland. However, I see that in a different color than other locations. Can you see it?
Olmo, I can see it, and it's the same color here.
Thanks, the colors now turned the same for me as well.
Fort Lee, in northeastern NJ, otherwise known as "Manhattan's Colorado". ;)
La Mesa, CA., first I-8 exit east of San Diego State.
A trailer behing the car wash, and sometimes vacation at Fire Island New York.
La Mesa, CA, first and finest suburb on San Diego's east side. Great place to ride. Speaking of which, pa biker, are there any decent bikes to rent in Frederick? I'm meeting my two sibs there for June 30, July 1 to be at Gettysburg for the 150th anniversary of the battle. Car traffic will be impossible, and one of the best days I ever spent was on a rental bike about 10-15 years ago riding the paved roads of the battlefield.
