My new "ride"....

Well it's not really rideable, which is too bad, cause it weighs in at less than 10 pounds. Built it up to display at a local art show. I was hoping for a few interested buyers.

Very nice! How many hours did you put into it?

The chain alone looks like half the work!

I'd guess I have around 200 hours into it. I got the first chain (that's right, there were two) done and the links were too stiff to bend because of a little excess glue. So start over....

Still trying to figure out where to sell it and how much. $10 dollars an hour for my labor puts it at two grand. Too steep? I dunno...

Beautiful. And I think two grand is too low. That thing's a friggin' work of art. Have you thought about showing it at the North American Handmade Bike Show?

Contact Don Walker of Don Walker custom frames. He runs NAHBS (North American Handmade Bike Show).

He will want to talk to you, trust me.

I would go to the bike show were it anywhere near where I live.

Oh, every piece of it is wood.

Fantastic - Patience is one thing that you have a lot of and I envy you. Don't rule out Nationwide woodwork shows and Auctions, doesn't have to be bike related.

Linus, that beauty definitely needs to be at NAHBS. This is the kind of thing that ought not to get missed.

There's no way that bike would go for only $2k.

Gorgeous!!! I love wood, what a great idea!!
I could see someone in Santa Fe paying big bucks for that, major art collectors that ride, and they have HUGE expendable incomes, and trust funds

An update if anyone's interested, I just talked a local bike shop into displaying my bike at their shop to be sold on consignment or trading for components. I'm leaning towards the components deal as I am having a friend build a frame for me and the shop owner said he would give me a significant savings over retail.

$2000 is no where near the right price for that. My brother is an artist & from what I see you should at least put another zero on that figure.
