Really digging the back. Nicely done.

The last few t-shirts I got have been a better grade poly-cotton blend that is a bit thinner but nicer than the old stand by 100% cotton elcheapo giveaway kind. Not sure if that made sense but I'm willing to pay more to get a nicer quality.

I would also suggest taking a look at a design that has the crest on the sleeve instead of the front.

Before you have these silk screened, ask if they can do a one-off using an Epson or Kodak (or other) commercial ink jet that can handle t's. That way you have some relatively inexpensive mockups for wash-n-wear and a field test. I have done this for about $20 and the cost of the shirt.

    First or last.

What is story behind the crest?

OC. That is the shield of Roeselare. Jempi's hometown.

CK. I am on the fence with the sleeve art.

Agree with design #1. Very classy designs.

What is the story behind having the shirts made? (I know Monsere died tragically while world champion)

Use the full name as on design 4, angled lower left to upper right. Remove the crest from the front and move crest with the towns name in place of Jempi's to the left sleeve and leave the back as is.

The fourth one. First one is my second choice.

DonnaMobile, I read a story about him when Cyclesport was doing a series on the guys who raced during Eddy's reign called "In the Shadow of Merckx" and Monsere was the first story they ran.

His life and death touched a nerve. He was into things like yoga DECADES before it became popular for athletes. He was ahead of his time.

+1 first design. Also on the fence with crest on sleeve.

Very nice overall. Don't see many cycling tees. This one has style!

I like mondonico sugestion of putting Roeselare on the shield instead of Monsere. Certainly if you are keeping crest on front.

On back, what about "World Champion for Ever" or, depending on what your intent is with T-shirts, "Voor Eeuwig Wereldkampioen".

I vote for #3. Reminds me of many jerseys from the 80's.

"The cityshield in the pavement in front of cityhall. This shield was already in the oldest known seal of Roeselare, dating back to 1309.
The shield of the count of Roeselare was a silver cross at a black background, and is said to come from the patriarchs of the eastern church. The city adopted this shield, before the french revolution it became a double black cross at a silver background."

I like the third one, but would wouldn't put his name or the town name on the cross. Maybe too much, but the rainbow bands on one sleeve might be a nice touch...

Colors cost money. Two color MAX, right now we are single colors.

And the name on the Roeselare shield is because it is a logo. When it is on other items it works.

So I am going to go with #1. It was the original design anyways.

Sometimes the first take is the best.

OC, I like the idea of using Dutch. Thanks for that!!!!

I have one more question for the group before I submit the design. I'll post it in an hour or two.

    Thanks for all the help!
