    brought my Vortex into the LBS early this morning so we can line up all the geom/touch points with the new bike. Called them up and Willy says hold on -- next thing I hear the saw-ing sound and he says- "guess what that is?" Almost all the components are in now and the bike should be ready next week. Gonna sit on the thing this weekend and see how it feels/fits. Plan is to cut the mast high and work our way down as needed. Bike should be ready just in time for the first snow storm -- but thats cool. It will keep me very motivated during the winter. Phuck Fifty!!!

    coming soon-- GIANT TCR Advanced SL - Gloss White
    full campy super record 50-34 crank/12-29 cassette
    Ritchey carbon curve bar and 4-axis Al stem
    Speedplay X1 pedals
    Campy hyperon 1's
    White tape and bottle cages
    Saddle to be determined

    There will be pics coming

    ...no matter how many times they cut it, it will still be too short! ;}

    Don't forget that your saddle also plays a part in determining where to cut the mast.

    Sound like a great ride!

    That's a lot of bike! Looking forward to seeing the pics. Your wife must be grateful that you didn't get a Porsche instead!

    i am totally psyched about the bike. Woohooo!

    My wife had her 50th birthday in June and all she wanted was a huge party --which really was a lot of fun. Ok some jewelry was involved too. I know exactly what was spent on the party. All I can say is that I'm spending less on the bike. Not by a lot tho....

    Tai you are right, I'm saving us a lot of money by not getting a sports car -- which I'd probably wind up landing in some wet cement anyway

    The good thing about turning fifty is that you will get over it. In April, I will. The 50s will be gone forever!

    My last year of 50s, I did a lot. The 25th anniversary Cycle Oregon (Crater Lake nnd Mt. Ashland) on a new custom fix gear.

    I was a touch nervous when I cut my seat mast on my Giant Defy Advanced SL. But the bike comes with two seat clamps and a number of shims to space it so in the end it was a no brainer. Plus it has a cutting guide that you clamp in so you can't cut it crooked. I think you will love the bike. The TCR was too low to fit me. I have long legs so my saddle is high relative to the front.

    Lance who??
