Coach Ferrari

I'm burned out on "I just went to him for taining advice". BS! BS! BS!
-If you went to Ferarri you went for one reason, the best doping system.
-Ferarri's succes was not based on his coaching, he was not a special coach. Many, maybe 100s of, coaches have the same or better training program.

Sorry for another doping thread but I had to vent that.

Not that this will budge the clothes minded. But I offer it to those non-haters who still believe:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2243865/EPO-Banned-sports-drug-linked-Lance-Armstrong-NOT-improve-performance-experts-warn.html

"Researchers writing in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology say there is no scientific evidence that it does enhance performance."

    Earth to USADA! Hello?

Now that science has debunked the DANGEROUS DUMB Myth that "EPO can Transform you into a 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 time TdF winner" they can begin to de-bunk the Myth that "Dr Ferarri can transform you into a 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 time TdF winner".

It is about time those myths get debunked. Impressionable cheater types might risk their health by believing that crap. Guys like Ricco etc. Although Gene Doping is in its infancy - and may be another matter entirely. Maybe WADA should keep tabs on which doctors Ricco brings his kid to yikes.

You people are dipsh*ts. If you actually read the article, these people basically did a lit search and came up with no studies on the performance benefits of EPO, thus there is no scientific proof. All that means is that no researcher wasted precious research dollars on proving something that would be of absolutely zero scientific value. Whoop-dee-f***ing-do. My guess is there is also no scientific proof that fish can swim because no one ever did a study that proves they can. So there.

But I "saw" some fishes swimming once when I was snorkeling in Belize but I haven't seen them riding bicycles.

to say nothing of the fact that LA was sanctioned for using a banned substance (EPO among many). Whether or not it made him any better is beside the point.

Even if some of you DO BELIEVE that EPO will transform you into a 7 Time TdF winner - at least appreciate the dangers that these scientists are pointing out.

That is the crux of the study - Do not be dumb, cyclists - EPO=Fail.
    EPO=Dangerous.

THAT is the point of the study.
Be careful. Don't be dumb. And if you ARE dumb, be prepared for disappointment when you do not win 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 in a row.

I read that article too and my observation is that those researchers completely ignored an unofficial study done with a large number of elite athletes in the late '09s and early 2000s. The pro peleton. You can look at speeds up climbs. You can observe climbers excelling in TTs. You can note that on elite teams, riders were released unless they joined the program because it was common knowledge it worked.

And on a more serious note: we know LA did testosterone, corticosteroids, EPO and growth hormone (and I'm forgetting the 5th) before his cancer. And that cancer was a very fast growing testicular cancer.

Also that Polish posted "THAT is the point of the study.
Be careful. Don't be dumb...". But I am confused. Is LA smart? Then surely he wouldn't be caught dead with those drugs. Or is Polish arguing LA is not smart. Interesting thought.

Elite athletes in the late '90s and early 2000s offer a wonderful set of data points.

We see donkeys like JV and Ricco using EPO and becoming Thoroughbreds then donkeys again.

And we see Lance on Sestriere in 99 and Lance on Alpe d'Huez in 04 - no change in performance but EPO Dosage very different.

Remember Lance telling Floyd that the GC Dangermen stopped using EPO after the test came out 2002. But Dangermen still performed great - EPO effect was not as big a deal for them as it was for the donkeys.

But the study tells us that neither donkeys or thoroughbreds should use EPO because 1) Dangerous for donkeys 2) Dangerous and not needed for thoroughbreds.

Good study. No reason to pour hate on it. Good study.

Apparently Polish missed the bit about LA's team switching to blood doping, donating that blood while in seclusion at high altitudes or on an island, safely away from drug testers. The only way LA and teammates were able to set aside enough blood for several Tour infusions was by replenishing quickly on an EPO fueled regime. Also the only way to do this without taking a huge hit in training after each donation.

Pretty cool. Blood doping for which there was no test and EPO with no chance of testing positive. Worked well. 280 tests passed. Just two oopses (sp) and those were easy to manage with UCI's help (and one was corticosteroids, not EPO).

Just pretend for a minute the USADA was right, this means that Dr Ferrari injected Lance with stuff that actually diminished his performance! Yet he still won 1234567! Haters fail an have nothing better to do than spell check others posts.
