Watermoccasin crashed at today's CX race and left early to get medical care. If you see this Dale, I'd like to know . Hope it was nothing too serious.

Ah Fook....not good since he is on blood thinners.
Anyone heard from him?
Just say "NO!!" to WCP!
"Want to get faster? Work harder, eat better, cut the crap. Instead of talking the talk, work the work" -
You would think after this many years I could drive a bike... but no, went down on the first lap, bounced pretty hard on my left shoulder and couldn't move my arm when I got up. Went to the urgent care enter. The e-xay tech is a cyclist and didn't think anything was weird about having to take of a heart rate strap or that he needed to help me undo my skin suit.
Nothing broken, not 100% sure what's messed up but no state race for today. I'm driving up to watch buddies and enjoy what I can of the scene.
Still hurts like heck, slept good last night thank you, Percoset.

Glad you are ok Dale.

Recover well Moc!

Gotta be that Maffetone training diet. System went on screen saver.
The wise man said follow me...and he walked behind. -
Yeah, recover well, and glad you are ok.

Glad nothing is broken.
LeMond VO2 max 95, Armstrong 82....doh -
Thanks guys. Still hurts plenty, probably a low grade separation and I'm relegated to the trainer for the next while.
Went to the state race to cheer and heckle. Brutal course with absolutely no place to recover-- lots of climbing and when there wasn't climbing it was off camber downhill slippery turns. Lots of guys ended up on the grass and several biffed it on the cement stair run-ups... cleats and concrete are not a good combination.
Cross is such a cool vibe that it was fun to be there even if I wasn't racing.
-
Glad youre OK. Separated shoulders do hurt. Make sure you see an ortho - may need reduction if only to avoid major arthritis later on.
-
Sorry to hear about the crash and the shoulder injury. At least you were having fun when it happened. Heal fast.
-
Watermoc, I hope your shoulder heals up and is good. When I hear shoulder injury, I don't say "Glad to hear it's not broken". Most breaks are straightforward. Soft tissue stuff often is not. I've broken my right collarbone twice. Everything works except I can't throw overhand excewpt like a girl. Oh well. But the soft tissue damage I did to my left would take a lot of surgery to make right and even then I doubt that would be the last of it.
I wish you and your shoulder well.

Yuck 'mock. Bummer to hear about the injury and hope you heal quickly. At least it happened in the off season.

Just as long as they didn't cut your skinsuit off. Those aren't easy to replace in season!
Glad you're okay, heal quickly.
For disclosure purposes, I am a partner in November Bicycles. This fact probably colors everything I say. I'm clearly not to be trusted. -
Take it easy, and heal fast. Crashing is such a bummer of a way to remind us that we're not 18 anymore. While there are many things to be thankful for that come only with greater age, slower recovery is not one of them.
How did the bike make out?
-
Dale, glad to hear you are ok. Heal up soon!

"How did the bike make out?" (all it did was twist the lever on the bar a bit)You guys crack me up!
Still bummed that I didn't get to race the state championship but life is what it is.

Bones heal, Campag doesn't."How did the bike make out?" (all it did was twist the lever on the bar a bit)

Don't ever wash that skinsuit again!
These things seem to beat old bones harder. Glad you are well, dude.

Watermoc, that jersey gives me the shudders. Looks way too much like my jersey of a year ago. Exact same location (except mirror). Road black instead of CX brown. Torn. And it saw serious scissors.
Really good to read your funny on the other thread. A healthy, healing moc!

Your grass/mud stains match your team kit colors pretty well. :-)
-
If that was my kid's soccer jersey I'd tell him he didn't play hard enough - too clean :-)
-
Jacobus, that's the new MWI Camo Edition ;)
How's the leg doing? There were a bunch of guys that had mishaps on those stairs!
-
The leg is a little sore but not too bad. I have it covered with Tegaderm and oozing liquid still. Gonna take a while to heal, Im sure. Today, my left shoulder also stiffened up some after taking the brunt of my tumble
There were a few stumbles on the stairs. One guy in the 4's barely got his footing before doing a faceplant. I starting cringing and was so relieved that he recovered in the nick of time.
-
Those stairs were nasty, I saw a guy stumble and drilled his helmet into step number three. I think he was a single speeder but not 100% positive. That was a tough transition coming downhill then left onto wet muddy cement and up the stairs.
Do you know where 2013 state will be?
