Walsh's new book, or 7-6-5-4-3-2-1-0

I caught the tail end of a BBC interview with David Walsh early this AM. This was what is was in reference to

    http://www.stickybottle.com/latest-news/out-soon-seven-deadly-sins-my-pursuit-of-lance-armstrong-by-david-walsh/

Walsh wants to believe that Wiggins won clean, too. And in Velo there's the suggestion that Wiggo will defend his MJ this July against Berto. It will be an important year for cycling.

I was waiting for this post to happen...lol!

It is his word versus ours. We like our word. We like where we stand and we like our credibility."--Lance Armstrong.

Wiggins was escorted to the finish last year in what was one of the most monumentally boring Tours ever.

The only rider strong enough to attack and take time out of Wiggo was neutralized by the team director because he was a teammate and designated domestique.

The strongest man definitely did not win last year. So let Wiggo talk all he wants. Barring injuries or scandals, he'll be luck to get a distant third place next year.

As for Walsh and his book, I believe Armstrong fatigue has officially set in. I really don't care anymore.

    I agree with Berzin.
Or rather does it all depend on who dopes how much and nothing else (except perhaps an unpleasant personality)? That's the implicit argument in about 80% of the anti-Lance posts over the last 2-3 years.

Another book critical of Lance. "SDS" Same Different Shit.
    Who is next....
"500 Eskimo Words for "Fraud"" by Tommy D?

So many people have profited from Lance. Lance effect continues to give$$ and give$$ and give$$ some more. Win Awards. Jump on the Bandwagon.

The good thing is that money is draining from the Pro Cycling Swamp.

The people who think "Change Cycling Now" will create a world where intense money competition and no-doping coexist are silly. Change to lower budget "love of the sport" mode. Lower Revenue Love the Sport Mode.

"Change Cycling Now" needs to embrace that message or be hypocrits. Look at ways to reduce the cost of drug testing. Because increased revenues to support increased cost = unrealistic planning. C'mon, less talk - more walk.

i agree that walsh's book may as well be entitled "i told you so" because it will just be a rehash of what's now common knowledge.

and yeah bernie madoff had a good run too; everyone was shitting in high cotton until the bubble burst. only time will tell if pro cycling will ever return to the category of sport vs. chemistry experiment.

Entheo, I agree that Walsh's Bubble has now burst - and this will probably be his last "Lance Book". TGFSS. Fiction Trilogy. But no Tolkien lol.

And when has Pro Cycling / TdF ever NOT been a "chemistry experiment"? Mythical Days of Lore?

Sir Gregalot and the Knights of the RoundTablePizzaCouch. "Make a run for the border"

polish you must be a '99er because everyone knows that before EPO & BBs there were serious drawbacks to amphetamines and anabolics that neutralized benefits in a stage race.

racing was still exciting back then, it can be again even without the "attack of the clones", so don't worry, we no longer need glorified lab rats to drive wannabes into bike shops in search of ultegra-equipped treks and oakley jawbones. those are now the old days too, grrr.

Entheo, just because we do not need "lab rats", does not mean the lab rats are gone. Lab Rats died in the 70's and 80's early 90's. Worst time for Omerta that period.

Hopefully, Pro Cycling will continue to grow safer and safer and not backslide into that dark era. BackRoom Clinics are dangerous.

Is that really the name of the book? What a self-serving douche. Walsh's efforts would have amounted to nothing if it werent for Landis. Floyd should have written that book. Or maybe he actually has moved on -- there's an idea

    a +1 to Stronz

It is a rather douchey title. My criticism is mitigated by the poetic justice aspect: LA had a lot of ill-gotten financial and social gains (now both disappearing) from his doped 'success' in pro cycling, so I am OK with Walsh or anyone else making money off LA's spectacular F A I L.

And Walsh had to get the book out NOW. In a few years, nobody will remember Lance Armstrong, except for old, bitter teabaggers.

Darn cops. I used to like to down a fifth of wild turkey and then do hot laps around my neighborhood. Usually I would do 1/2/3/4/5/6/7. It was awesome. I was awesome. Pretty soon everyone in the neighborhood was doing it - some days you'd see 30, 40 cars ripping around, but always at least 1/2/3/4/5/6/7. Then the cops came after me on a witch hunt, smear job, SSDD waste of taxpayer money and ruined driving. #FAIL.

For disclosure purposes, I am a partner in November Bicycles. This fact probably colors everything I say. I'm clearly not to be trusted.

I'm not going to begrudge Walsh's efforts here, but I don't see any new evidence coming to light in this book. Just a rehashing of events for the uninitiated.

Now when Ferrari and Bruyneel go down, then maybe we'll have more to this sordid tale. But as of right now, this book is more like a victory lap for Walsh than anything else.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Armstrong deserves nothing less.

Considering the way Lance went after him, I am not really hating on Walsh for his "endzone dance" book.

Walsh has put in a lot of time and effort sleuthing his subject. What's wrong with him wanting to get paid for all that plus the attendant frustration? It's not like he's gonna make a $125 million and if the public is tired of reading about this issue he'll find out shortly and that will be his signal to move on.

Yup, can't begrudge the man for doing the endzone dance/victory lap here. That would, however, be the last bit of mileage one could get out of it.

Oh, BTW, 7Spear's photo shows a true fake; Jah's photo faked to show truth.
