Well, I guess she lived up to her earlier statement that nothing short of murder could get her to change her opinion on Armstrong.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/othersports/why-im-not-angry-at-lance-armstrong/2012/12/15/5802bcce-460e-11e2-8061-253bccfc7532_story.html

However, she apparently omitted the paragraph that began with "Maybe I'm not angry with Lance Armstrong because I made big-time bank off him."

    Just say "NO!!" to WCP!

"Want to get faster? Work harder, eat better, cut the crap. Instead of talking the talk, work the work"

Hopefully Jenkins employment status will be one of the first changes that Marty Baron makes when he takes over as Executive Editor of the Post. She's a disgrace!

Loads of people have Made Money by writing Lance Books.

Walsh, Tyler, soon TommyD, Walsh, and Walsh again.

    FanGirlMoney and HaterManMoney.

It is hard NOT to make money writing a Lance book. TommyD's should be a doozy lol. That is if he does not get writers cramp and have to quit before finishing his book.

I guess I am not angry at Sally for having zero journalistic ethics even though it's clear she is just a paid front piece for over-paid and over-pampered celebrities. I guess I am not angry because I never paid for her sh@t books or really cared before either.

None of this shit fazes me. What fazes
me is stuff like last thursday.I almost went over a 600 foot embankment after hitting black ice coming back from Yosemite but was able to bring it back into the opposite site into the side of a hill. Flatted the tire,no fun in driving snow changing a flat with the rinkydink jack that comes with the car. Took awhile but I got it done, very wet and cold and couldn't wait to get back into the car that I left running to keep the heater going.
Opps,I was locked out, car has an auto lock if left running for over 15 minutes. Had to break the rear vent window to get back in.
And that was just the beginning of my worries.......
At least Nancy took it well and even was enjoying the snow while we waited to be towed.

I like it. There are many worthwhile things to get angry about in life and Lance Armstrong's doping is not one of them.

Who said it "fazes me" or that I am angry about it? I simply thought it was funny and found the hypocrisy kinda bemusing.

Trust me...of the things I am upset about in life, Sally Jenkins ain't one of 'em.

*edit: Glad you are OK, bob!!!

Yep why would she be angry, she probably knew he doped the entire time. She probably also got paid to write this article.

@bob I hear ya on the winter driving. I came over Loveland Pass y'day @3:45 pm total whitout very scarey I didn't even know I was at the top until I saw the large "Continental Divide" sign. Whiteouts are the worst you don't know what to do, if you stop you run the risk of getting rear ended if you continue you chance driving in the other lane anf getting hit head on or driving of the mountain!!

    LeMond VO2 max 95, Armstrong 82....doh

CK,my comment was not directed at you per se but in my feelings towards sport and entertainment in general as frivolous beyond killing time.
My own life and those I share it with are what occupies my realities, wants and needs.
Last night I was watching my home team, 49ers against the Patriots, for awhile it looked to be a cake walk but knowing Brady I figured he'd get around to making some plays and he did. Did it worry me that the 49er's blew a 28 point lead, not really. Glad they eventually won but had they lost I still would have had to get up to align the tie rod I replaced.
The car experience kinda put things back into proper perspective. Sometimes we need a little jolt to help keep us grounded.

First time I Have ever read anything by Sally Jenkins. Sounds like a sound journalist with excellent judgement.
Lance was very very good at cycling, better than any rider of his time period. I can't say a bad thing about Lance.
Every rider and team proffited from his excellence.

flicker posted "Every rider and team proffited (sp) from his excellence." Uh, those riders who chose not to go the full doping regime got released from Lance's teams. Those who chose to speak the truth were threatened, sued or blackballed. This included several women.

I'll agree with him that LA was very good at cycling. His biggest opponent wasn't in the peleton. His biggest enemy was and is the truth.

I'm not angry at Lance either.

Flicker, you MUST read "Its Not About The Bike". Must read.

NYTimes #1 Bestseller for an awfully long time. Hardcover and Paperback. Very well written, hard to put down. Won the SportsBook of the Year Award like RoughRide did. But Sally/Lance wrote it way back in 99/00 so a lot of excellence is missing. Did not read the 2nd book, but will read the next one for sure. For SURE:)

The Peloton,(correct spelling) has understood excellence for a long, long, long, time my guess sometime after the pennyfarthing first rolled. That is the truth, that Lance did not invent excellence, and there is nothing to apologise for. If he was not sanctioned nor tested positive, there is no issue. I am sorry, but I am not a Hamilton, nor a Landis apologist. I on't like their inconvenient truths, especially Floyds' best seller, "Positivly False."
How do books like Tylers' or Floyds' improve the image of the sport. I like Lances' book,"Its' not about the Bike."
Lance has done great things. That is the truth I see.

Ben, they would have been dropped from anybody's team if without using sports medicine they were unable to tow the mark. Don't blame Lance, blame the system he and the rest had to operate within.

Lance was the greatest victim of all of that system. If everybody had raced without using them then he could have dominated the sport without using them too. By forcing him to play ball the only way one could and still be part of the big show was a terrible misfortune that befell him because of the time of life in the history of the sport that he happened to come along.

A little more sympathy and a lot less hate would be good for everyone's soul around here.

I sure like the way these anti-Lance threads keep popping up. It gives us non-haters some opportunity to express truths that we'd never be so thoughtless to bring up on our own considering had fu*king tedious this topic has become. By now you have to be a real ashhole to introduce another LA thread.

AF wrote "they would have been dropped from anybody's team if without using sports medicine. "Sports medicine" aka illegal substances. And this system LA had to operate in was one he could influence to get positive tests dropped and other riders sanctioned. Also where he had the money and means to sign the best doctor/deliverer of illegal substances to an exclusive contract.

And millions of dollars later, he was the greatest victim? A little hard to swallow, but OK. I don't feel sorry for him. I do wish he could he could live an honest life and shed himself of the burden of carrying the lies. Perhaps I have to accept that honesty is not possible for him or that he is one who can be comfortable living his lies. Maybe I have no business wishing for him what I want for myself and those I care about.

if she had any shame, Jenkins would write a write a book about Betsy Andreu and sort of even it all out

as far as her being a journalist and all that, after all that I would put her somewhere around Glenn Beck on the integrity scale. surprised her feet are not being help to the fire after the last few months. Jenkins should be an embarrassed journalist that was used by the Livestrong PR machine to write what she did

As far as the Lance books - Weekly Reader, folksy, softball kinda stuff. Did Lance chop down a cherry tree or did he write the Star Spangled Banner? With all the Spin I have kinda forgotten
