plan b, it seems the landscape is littered with foundations set up to soothe the conscience of their benefactors -- cecil rhodes & the beforementioned scholarships, robber baron andrew carnegie & the carnegie foundation, alfred nobel and the nobel peace prizes (quite the oxymoron, but that could be rectified by a spear-spelling of 'piece prizes'), and last but not least, our favorite doper-in-chief & livestrong.

At the local public library they were moving her books. From the Non-Fiction to the Fiction section of the library.

So Sally Jenkins graduated from Stanford. What does that prove? Right, she passed 500 tests. Her degree was in English, by the way, not Ethics.

It should not be a total suprise that the daughter of a sportswriter who earns a English Degree from Stanford writes a multi-week #1 NYTimes Bestseller - but it IS stil very impressive.

Stanford is extremely competitive and it takes an extraordinary amount of hard work and focus to earn your degree there. So I guess it should not be a suprise either that Sally's Bestseller was about Lance - but again, very impressive!

edit...I thought most "Ethics Majors" were pro doping lol.

polish: I thought most "Ethics Majors" were pro doping lol.

that would depend entirely on the context of the subject matter, e.g. euthanasia. but given your context i believe you are suggesting that most philosophy & religion majors are in favor of cheating, since doping was/is illegal in professional cycling. care to back that up with some proof?

Well it depends on who is more ethical, someone trying to gain fame and fortune by trying to destroy people, or someone trying to win bicycle races against doped up competition,or someone writing about the Tour de France.

Is it ethical to repeatedly and anonymously bash someone for not condemning the Texan? Is it ethical to repeatedly stir up those who have a sociological hatred of said Texan?

Have we had enough of the LA threads yet?

Personally I have not had enough. Like you, jmr, I can't seem to stop myself from reading them and posting on them. But the threads about brands of, whatever, millimeters of rim depth -- those threads I'm done with, a fact made apparent by my lack of contributions to them. Now, as we were saying, Sally Jenkins ...
