PNW Summer Rally?

Tai has me motivated to meet and ride with some others here on the board...

I'll be up in the PNW from May until September, building - am open to travel over the mountains to the Seattle side or set up some good rides in the Methow Valley.

Perhaps those interested could post possible dates they could make it and where we would want to meet, ride, and most likely drink ; )

Personally I would like to climb, so the mountains are my draw...

    Thoughts?

I'm game and have been planning to check out Methow Valley for some time (albeit in winter as family skiing destination. Any other destination will work and also like to climb.

Sometime early/mid-June, late Aug or early Sep would work. Rest of summer is already filling up. End of June till mid-July are booked solid, in CO for a week of riding in early July and any hook-up with forumites there would also be fun.

Huck - I live just north of Seattle and would gladly go out pretty much anytime you want. I will send you a PM with my info. I am not a lightweight, but love to climb so I will gladly show you some hill routes.

What general area will you be staying in?

Thanks, GJanney - I grew up in Seattle so am quite familiar with it...

I was trying to spur on a fun location for a get together ride this Summer - I will be building on the east side of the Cascades, across Highway 20 and was just saying that if people didn't wan't to hassle with coming over there for the isolated and extremely beautiful riding, I would submit myself to the congestion of the west side ; )

Seattle vs Methow Valley? I don't care how many Starbucks Seattle has, they lose!

I'm free all summer and just got on an friend's buddy list. He is a UAL pilot and can get me just about anywhere in the world for $200 or less if I am on his list. Already planning a visit back to Granada!

Too bad you won't be on the east side. Couer d'Fondo is in September. Not sure what the date is yet. Starts in Coeur D'Alene ID. Last year was the first and it was one of the best rides I've been on. and 800 riders.

Holly - the Methow is on the east side. Only 3 hours from Spokane ; )

CdA is beautiful, but those mass rides are not my way of getting out with a few friends ; )

huckelberry - post one more picture of your scenic highways, gorgeous valley views, that neat new house, or any more videos and I will be forced to put you on my ignore list! :-)

Seriosuly, I am already planning a March trip to the SEA area. Son is on a boomer, based at the Bangor facility near Silverdale. Olympic side of the Puget Sound but still close enough to SEA. Sister and b-in-law live near Snohomish. March trip won't have any cycling time available.

Too early to commit to dates but I can just about guarantee a business trip to the area in the May - July time frame. perhaps a few.

I'll PM you my contact info. Tai and GJ already know how to reach me.

I call first wheel sucker position when GJ gets to the front!

That pic is causing some major drool on my keyboard.

JP - on your next trip, with a little lead time, you might just convince me to jump the 49er fence to do some riding with you guys and hoist a pint. I'll PM you my contact info.

GJ - given your location, we should take Tai for a Baker ride. The fact that he's from Seattle and hasn't ridden up it is, well, sacriledge. Stunning ride.
