Lars Boom calls out Belgians
-

His comments in the build up to the 2009 championships in Hoogerheide, Netherlands, riled the Belgians so much that it provoked an almost unheard of co-operation between them to prevent Boom from winning on home soil.
That's funny stuff right there.
It is his word versus ours. We like our word. We like where we stand and we like our credibility."--Lance Armstrong. -

He came in 13th in that race eh? Ha!
Some wise words from Sven at the end of that article though.

No Shi*. Looked what happened to "you know who" after he said,""The Tour was a bit of a joke this year. I've got nothing against Sastre ... or Christian Vande Velde," he was quoted as saying shortly after the race last year. "Christian's a nice guy, but finishing fifth in the Tour de France? Come on!"
You can thanks Carlos for bringing LA back into cycling, which was the last straw to break the camels back.

C'mon, of course those belgians are getting weak. What with global warming and all, it was 34 fahrenheit and sleeting at the last cross race, instead of 31 and freezing rain which would have made real men out of them, to be sure...

You know...I'd let that one slide...the dude had rainbow stripes in various disciplines.

He was working the feed zone for Rabobank several years back at the Tour of Missouri... I think the year after he won the Worlds. I got him to autograph the top tube of my cross bike.
He does have the props to call out anyone he wants.

Numbingly slow progress in making headway being competitive at spring classics though. But he's been inching ever closer, this year might be the one.
Ballan's spring campaign is already done with that bad spill he took.
