"Lance Armstrong will give his first interview after receiving a lifetime ban in 2012 to Oprah Winfrey." Here's how all of us OCD forumites can kill and hour.

The interview will air on Winfrey’s “Next Chapter” program at 9:00 p.m. ET on Thursday January 17 on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network and will stream live at http://www.oprah.com.

Maybe Lance will get up on the couch and jump around like Tom Cruise.

Get out your clipboards and keep your eye on the Depressor Anguli Oris, Procerus, Levator Labii Superioris Alaquae Nasi, Corrugator Supercilii, and Depressor Supercilii. His deposition video is already textbook reference material in FACS instruction for Europol.

If you wanted to try and get general public opinion on your side, the Oprah show is a great place to attempt that.

He is one smart guy. You have to give him that.

Forget the cycling public they know, but he still thinks he has a shot at the general public

@mike - no way Oprah was his call. Someone else made that for him.

Lance will say the following: 1] He never used EPO. 2] Tygart Travis used his name to get ahead. 3] It was all a big which hunt. 4] The people that testified were given sweet heart deals, were bribed or are nefarious. 5] The truth will come out with Bruyneel's trial.

My guess is this interview will be game changing. After Oprah gets done, Tygart Travis reputation will be in shatters.

    7tdf,

no offense but are you aware of the recent rumors that he will confess? I have no doubt that he started the rumors to test the waters. I also agree with others that HE picked Oprah because she will welcome him with open arms, no tough questions.

Read this on the comments under the story, pretty funny

"I can look past the lying, cheating, bribery, intimidation, threats, and backstabbing, but to confess on Oprah's show might be unforgivable."

I am generous and always willing to help out non English speakers.

"After Oprah gets done, Tygart Travis reputation will be in shatters."

Hmmmm. 1) I think "Travis" is his first name, so you got the order wrong 2)You should use the possessive, ie "Tygart's reputation" and 3) The correct English expression is "to be in tatters". "Shatter" is a verb, not a noun. "To be in shatters" does not exist and makes you sound really stupid. No offense intended.

Oprah has lost the daytime magic, I'd me more impressed if he rode the sybian on Howard Stern. Kinda worked for Octamom

just a PR gambit that's basically a cry for help, he's circling the drain

    Finny, Berzin!

There's a new flavor of '60 Minutes' called '60 Minutes Sports' that will 'prime the pump' for Oprah. Feeding frenzy to follow.

And +1 to Mike: LA has gotten all the use he can from cycling (outside of triathlon context), so THAT stepping stone is behind him. Will he ditch 'cancer awareness' as well?

Oprah? I'd like to see what Dr. Phil would tell him about himself.

"Riding is about rhythm and flow. It's the wind in your face and the challange of hammering up a long hill. It's the reward at the top and the thrill of a high-speed descent. Biking lets you come alive both in body and spirit."

hey this might actually get a few people to tune into the (failing) oprah channel.

btw: did anyone watch 60 Minutes Sports on Showtime last night? evidently they interviewed tygart about the $250k bribe.

    +1 biksabit.

As to any alleged confessions.....it occured to me that given that:
    1. He has stated emphatically in the past that he would never admit to having ever done peds.
    2. A confession to doing what has already been testified to by numerious former team mates would/should carry absolutely no leverage in getting any reduction in sanctions.....

I can only come to the conclusion that any "confession" would likely amount to him admitting to awareness that his teammates were in fact doing PEDS (but not him), in an effort to perform at a level to satisfy the need to adequately support his greatness and stay on the gravy train (team). He could say he turned a blind eye to his teammates drug abuses, knowing that he profitted from it in terms of tour results, and that he realizes that was wrong. But HE of course, never partook from the evils of PEDS, didn't need to, he was so good he didn't NEED to.

    Yeah, that's the ticket....

Not weird. Relevance seeking. If he can grab more headlines with a silly interview than a bunch of cyclists actually racing, then who's the boss?

From what I have heard, the show was already filmed. So people know what he said, they just aren't spilling the beans yet. My feeling is that he confesses.
