    Motivation

Can anyone help me find my motivation? I lost it after I got a bad cold in mid December. A few rides, light jog or two during the holidays, now work busy, cold out etc. Haven't really been consistent. I can't even show up at a club ride like this because it'll be an embarassment.

Where did it go? How do I get it back? ;-)

PS "Lance". Just had to write his name since I guess all posts need to do it.

Your motivation is stuck in bad weather but can be found in new cycling clothes or parts. :) Works for me anyway. New wheels had to be tested properly on the North Shore last. I tell you frozen trails are the bomb.

    Lance who??

hoshie99 not sure where yours could have gone, but I know I just found mine.

Tai those temps are 10 degrees above the average for this time of year, but I'll take them.

Hoshie99, I am so there with you.

Back to back colds. Crappy weather.

Sooo not feeling the bike right now.

AZ...spent a good chunk of time living in Tempe/Phoenix and Tucson. This is the only time of year I would go there! I remember it hit 124 degrees one year...I remember my whole apartment complex pretty much just sitting in the pool that day.

I call Pheonix the asphalt jungle. Yeah it does get hot here in the summer, and that is why we now spend our summers back east.

I had a layover in Phoenix in July and when the plane landed the steward said, "Welcome to the surface of the sun, enjoy your stay!"

Between desert outings and meeting some relics of the Soviet era, Tuscon = good times/memories.

Plenty of motivation to ride but injury and not wanting to ride on frosty roads translates into frustration. But I'll be dammed if I don't do my weekly training ride tomorrow. Pop a painkiller and go!

Similar story here, though not really 'sick' I've been fighting some low-grade fever stuff, holiday training 'interference', and extended business hours with the start of the new year. have been able to get out of bed and do some weight training but the motivation to ride has faded.

Hope to turn that around now that the temps have finally come back up and the day is getting longer. My base miles are off to the slowest start in 20 years.

Yep, and my club is starting to get fast. I was on a reverse schedule. Finally fit in Oct - Dec and hanging with the A group (since that is their slow time). Now, those guys (SoCal) are rolling into fast mode since racing starts early here. So, no way am I sitting in; I'll get shelled as soon as they pick up the pace.

Oh well, long year and maybe 4-6 weeks of slack isn't so bad.

I feel the motivation building already ;-) Ugh, gotta get back to 6 am rides to get time in....
