Lance really is a snake in the grass...
The former LA bike mechanic Mike Anderson interview

Wow AluminumFrog...I am stunned by your admission.
It is his word versus ours. We like our word. We like where we stand and we like our credibility."--Lance Armstrong. -
- - AluminumFrog (- for one of them anyway, but which frog is which?)

AF, it takes a man with integrety to admit he was wrong, I applaud you. I was in much the same camp for a long time, not because I thought he was innocent, but I was willing to wait for substantiation, not just opinion. I wanted him to be clean, not for him, but to avoid what would certainly be a kick in the guts for pro cycling, which is indeed what has happened. The upside is that perhaps this will be the seminal event that causes a paradigm shift in the sport, and that would be good. And for the true fans of the sport, that may ironically be the begrudging value we eventually give his legacy, as the guy who inadvertainly changed the sport for the better. Go figure....

7tdf, a note about plus signs and minus signs. they are meant to signify 'votes,' in that you add your vote to the discussion thusly: "+1 AF" to indicate agreement with the posted sentiment or "-1 Polish" to disagree with an idea.
anyways, +1 AF for your post.
-
What to say, AF?
Some 'heroes' or myths die harder than others, but it is always right, I think, to want something 'better' as well.
That is not Lance Armstrong.
-
AF...I considered you (even during your earlier posts defending the dubious actions of LA) as a person having some level of intelligence and sanity. Your admission of finally seeing LA for what he really is is a step in the right direction and in no way diminishes one's love of cycling. Even the WWF version that LA presided over.
Good on you for admitting you no longer believe in the legends of Cancer Jesus.
Alas...we will never be able say the same for Polish or SOL.
-
Yes, big kudos to AF. An interesting switch.
And, Polish and SOL are not real people. That is, of course they are human; they just are humans who like to live in another persona to stick knives in other people. I mean, seriously, ya really think anyone can misspell words as badly as Polish without trying to?!?!

AF don't feel lonely, we're two peas in a pod. LA really is on a different plane than the rest.
I regret ever doubting and arguing with O&F, Stormy, Yo Mike and others I may have offended
for the likes of LA. -
I'm sure if 7tdf-SpearofLance spent some real time with LA and really got to know him he would realize the guy is a self-centered user of people and he would stop defending him on on-line forums.
-
AF, I always yes always respect your posts and thoughts. And it makes me feel good that you had a deep down belief that Lance was not a TOTAL dick - just 95+++% or whatever dick.
I came to grips with 100% dick a while ago. So the Oprah crap did not affect me too much. Enjoyed the "back against the wall fighter" story and the "not a FAT crazy bitch" routine. Like those lol.
MY biggest issue is that Lance appears to have thrown Livestrong "Under the Bus". If that turns out to be true - crap:(
I would think Lance would get back on the Livestrong bandwagon. Sure, riding Charity Rides for the Foundation might not satisfy his competitive urges - but I hope Lance is more than his competitive urges.
Maybe Lance could work out some deal with Strava to raise funds for Livestrong? Lots of old hater types would LOVE to beat Lance's time. Heck, Stormy and O&F would LOVE to be faster than Lance. Would love it. Train for it.
How about a Lance/Strava Livestrong Promotion "Beat the Dick"? C'mon Lance, get off your butt. Maybe Bobke needs to give Lance some inspiration?
