Just recieved a pair of Belgium rims to lace up to some DA hubs. What rim strip to use?
I always end up on Velox but have tried Rox, Ritchey, Velocity. will the Velox 22mm wide fit? I will be using latex tubes and Michelin PR's.
Rim strips for HED C2 rims

I think you would have to use the 17 millimeter velox. The rim's outer diameter is 23mm and the 22mm will push up into the bead. the only time I have used the 22mm was with a set of Blunts
I always use velox as it lasts forever, I never have to think about it once installed and everybody usually stocks it. ritchey has always seems a bit thin and air pressure will make it move and deform in bad ways. the plastic stuff you have to keep an eye on as it can develop cracks
in a pinch, the packing tape with the string in it does ok

I went with the SRAM for these rims. Thinner than velox, easier to install, and cheap.

Forgot to mention that I had been a lifelong velox guy, but the thickness makes mounting with some tire/rim combinations too difficult.

Just a cautionary note from someone that has ridden the Jet's for a few years. Regular velox-type rim strips will bunch up over time on the c2 rims, and if you don't check them, can even expose a spoke hole. I have found that the yellow Veloplugs work the best on the HED C2 rims.

Agree with nightfend.
Also, Stan's tape works great on these things even if you have no intention of going tubeless.
For disclosure purposes, I am a partner in November Bicycles. This fact probably colors everything I say. I'm clearly not to be trusted. -
I used Hed rim tape.
