I have two pair of shoes I'm no longer using, one is a pair of Mavic that I only used indoors (they've actually never touched the asphalt). Any recommendations on good places to donate these so they will get good use? The thought of throwing them away sickens me.
What to do with gear?

Donate them to some poor schmuck here. If I needed some I'd ask but I don't.

Size 46 Sidis can be donated here.

PA - they're both size 46. One pair is Specialized (from the early 90's, but like new). The others are Mavic and look brand new. No Sidi, however.
-
Oh, and to Bobswire's point - if anyone here wants them, PM me and I will send them to you.

Freecycle?
I think you can put your leftovers on Freecycle and someone will snatch them up. I'm sure the Sidis will go.I'm thinking my twice overhauled Ksyriums are probably going there because I cannot imagine anyone else wanting to buy them.

Around here there is Our Community Bikes which will take old parts and bikes and I assume shoes and clothing too. Kind of a Sally Ann for bikes. Maybe there is something like that where you live? Or sports equipment consignment store.
I know what you mean about throwing away stuff that no longer serves a purpose for me but still have use.
Lance who?? -
Along those same lines I have probably a dozen jerseys that have not been worn in years. 80's vintage and maybe some early 90's. Size 4's and 5's if I remember correctly. If anyone needed them I could take an inventory and let you know what I've got.

There's always ebay. I've been slowly cleaning out a closet filled with old components and putting them on ebay. It can be a bit of a pain, packing them up and waiting in line at the post office, but then you get money to buy better, lighter, faster, new and improved bike stuff!

I don't know about the rest of the country, but around here, many (if not most) of the high schools have bike clubs and/or teams. Mountain biking seems to be the most popular, but it's always worth asking if they need any road shoes. Other than shoes, road clothing is fully adaptable to mountain biking. There are also people who work with the clubs/teams who will also take in whatever extraneous parts you may have, so they can keep the kids on the road/trail.

Garret...sent you an email bro...I'd be interested to try them for awhile just to see if Mavic is a brand that works for me. I'm medium wide forefoot, but low volume.

Thanks to Garret for hooking me up with the shoes...if the don't work for me, I'll put them back up here for free.
