Friday it was stupid muddy and no running water in the pit, not that it would have done any good due to the temp. Mechanics were having to chisel mud off the DT and try to get the brakes and drivetrain cleared enough to function. One of my buddies mechaniced for on of the women and used grease on the chain to keep it moving.
Saturday juniors race was on frozen ground and I didn't see anyone have to pit to get a clean bike' Womens race was a bit dirty with some spray from the tires but still a pretty clean race but the U-23's were coated with spatter and they were pitching eyewear on the first lap due to teh mud coating that was building up. Elite men was a greasy slippery affair with several mechanicals due to mud build up or crash related damage.
