Wow, that was one untimely mechanical for #3 spot.

    6th WC for Vos; she's only 25.

2nd gold for team orange; two more to go :-)

The wise man said follow me...and he walked behind.

    Yay Holland.

From Holland to the US waaaaaay back in the early 1700s. Josef Van Der Mark, Josef Van Der Mark, Jr., George W. Mark (dropped the Van Der), Henry A. Mark, Cyrus Marion Mark, George B. Mark, George E. Mark, Me.

    So it's been 7 generations.

Was gonna start a thread that said "Van der Poel is BACK!!"

....or at least the name. ;-)

His CX WC is still one of the most entertaining races I have ever watched.

    Just say "NO!!" to WCP!

Yup, Adri van der Poel, former cyclocross world champ (among a number of other quality road wins) and son-in-law of Poulidor.

    Another cycling dynasty

CK - you'd be one year late starting that thread. This is a repeat win.

You know if one of the Belgians doesn't win- all we're gonna hear about is the day change at the last minute.

The Belgians put 6 guys in Top10 at U23 so you can see the contours of dominance at upper echelon developing.

But 4 dutch guys in Top10 suggests that the upcoming years might bring a bit more fight to the Belgians than we've seen over last years. That's good but it'd be nice to see a handful of other countries in mix for sport to be healthy.

Looks like a great crowd, great weather....I'd call it a success, good job by all who put this together.

Looks like Vantornout panicked a bit once Nys went for the kill...he bobbled his dismount as Nys came around and then hooked his pedal. He actually seemed to keep coming back on Nys, but the bunny-hopped barriers proved to be the "head shot".

Great win for Nys!! Epic conditions....I think the UCI has been vindicated in their location chice
