My CX Worlds photos

Here are my photos from CX Words. I grouped them all in one folder and have not captioned anything but they are in race sequence order (Juniors, Women, U23, Men). Backlighting was difficult for the Men, from where I was standing so they are a little dark

Nice collection of photos, jacobus. That off camber turn looks like a bitch!

Great shots Jacobus. I love the shot of the Czech (?) rider who is coming straight for you.

Although you could expose for the shadows or the rider, a powerful on-camera flash or second light works well for proper exposure. While watching the race, I noticed Bettini's fotog had a person aiming a wireless light at the riders.

    SWG - This one?

I just bought the camera Thursday afternoon, on the way down to Louisville. It's my first SLR/DSLR so I was getting my feet wet (no muddy CX pun intended). There will be a learning curve for me. I let the camera handle everything automatically rather than trying to fumble around while trying to learn how to use the camera, with photos that I really wanted to turn out reasonably well. If Bettini would like to loan me his flashes and helpers next time, I would be willing to borrow them :-)

    This one:

Controlling flat lighting with the camera on auto or in program mode is difficult. Try setting the ISO @ 200-400, then set the left dial to AV (aperture priority) and switch your aperture to 4.0 or 5.6.. These settings will give you a more consistent exposure.

Jacobus, you were by me on a few occasions. Also, I took the exact same photo of Weirdest Bosmans bike, funny.
