He was clearly on a good program for years and much like others, his time is running low.

Hmmm...sure hope it isn't true, but unfortunately it would not surprise me.
The fact that he was listed as 1/10 or 0/10 on the 2010 TdF list of suspicious riders is heartening, however.
CK,
I wish that he was clean too but there is too much indicating otherwise. The most obvious is that he rode away from rabid groups of dopers and put time on them in the hardest races in the world.
If you dominated in the doping era, you were not clean. I used to be in denial, no more. Then again, I really don't care anymore. I chalk it up as something you had to do to compete. Other sports are the same. We have seen the fall in track, cross country skiing, baseball. Others will follow. Football (euro and American) and tennis are next. Heck, look at tiger woods. Tell me he is natural... Yes, even golfers are juicing.
Nadal versus Rochus is starting to ring a lot like Armstrong and Simeoni.
Sigh...one of those things where I would really like to think he is clean.
AC could always just retract his previous denial of having a battery and motor concealed in his bike's frame....
His comments on Hamilton's "Luigi" thing are just "it's time to forget the past and move on". Much like so so many others who were sanctioned.
I look forward to Tom Boonen laying it on him this season.
Wrong, wrong and wrong. Fabian was, is, and ever shall be clean, long live Fabian.
Whatever he did won't change my opinion of him just like my opinion of LA is largely unrelated to the doping question.
His battles with Boonen were/are good; his dominance in TTs a little bit boring. Can't change the past.
I have a feeling young guns like Martin will take care of Fabian's TT dominance as he ages. I just about wrote, "...take care of Fabian's TT dominance naturally" and thought better of it in this age of PEDs.
Prove your not Luigi, give a little blood and compare DNA.....perdy simple.
OC, it seems to me there have been lots of parallels between pro cycling and pro tennis for about the same amount of time; 1990s thru to current. so many alien changes.
re: nadal, this isn't new but a nice summary of his modus operandi nonetheless:

*you're*
My instincts say that FC and Cipo will be ensnared in some sort of scandal. FC's supporters talk about his amazing physique and pedal stroke, etc. All details that are true, but it sounds a lot like the talk of LA's higher cadence making all the difference.
As for Cipo, I hate to say it but I wouldn't be surprised if he was on a program the year he won GW and many other big races...
The fact that the Spanish judge has sealed the Fuentes client list says a lot about the attitude in that country about PEDs. The publication of that list and other details surrounding spanish athletes would blow the lid off international doping culture, far more than the Reasoned Decision...
That article about Nadal is pretty interesting. I would think that some of his injuries may be legit, but a byproduct of the steroid use.
Cipo's 2002 season was so much out of the norm from his previous seasons that one has to suspect something. Making it over the Cipressa and Poggio with the leaders when it had been years since he had done it before, an actual breakaway at G-W, the world's. While he had numerous stage wins, suddenly winning 250km+ one-day races when he had not done it before at his peak in the late 90's does look suspicious.
Can't believe you all are surprised and hoping Fabulous Fabian is clean. That was the "norm" then and for some now. So Cipo is in the spot light and is threatening to sue The Gazzetta, Damsgaard claims that LA raced cleaned on his comeback (blood doping in question) and JV want's to move on. I like JV's approach. Lets move on.
I love watching FF, God of Thunder Boom boom and Jens race hammer and attack but clean?...C'mon man.
Don't think so.
+1 flicker "Wrong, wrong and wrong. Fabian was, is, and ever shall be clean, long live Fabian."
I am so sick of people forming opinions based on ongoing investigations and information that comes to light. Why can't people just ignorantly declare there childish hopes as fact and ignore the scope and history of cylcing during the 1990's and early 2000'nds. I am with you, lets just declare the there is zero chance that Fabian ever used PED's, and just flame anyone who frames an intelligent opinion or analysis of the the new facts that come to light.
