Trainers suck. I missed my usual AM ride, and won't be able to really hit them any other time this week than now. So it's off to the races (well, the 92 tour alpe stage, anyway) for the next hour and a half. What did people do on the trainer before youtube?

And, oh yeah, I can't wait for Spring.

Sign up for Sufferfest videos or Trainer Road. People swear bu those things...

The new multisport training center I have been using has been great this winter. I did 2.5 hours on Sunday and it was completely tolerable. 15 other people there for the first 1.5 hours, a 30 min break between groups and then a second set of riders for the final 30 minutes. Computrainers simulate real road conditions and there is a great social / competitive aspect to it.

I would struggle if I had to go back to the trainer solo at this point, but would definitely do Trainer Road and/or Suferfest if I did.

    Just say "NO!!" to WCP!

Yeah, sufferfest. I dunno. The only thing that really keeps me on the trainer for more than a half-hour is watching old race footage. I'd forgotten the brilliance of Hampsten's climb in 92. The number of runners he backhanded was truly amazing. When he popped that 10 yo kid in the face, now that was truly astounding.

i've tried trainers and rollers but i don't have the self discipline to stick with it. i do go to spinning and i tend to stick with structured flogging. it's only 45 minutes though. the time change is on the 10th of march which means i can get out after work. oh happy day.

I seldom do more than 80-minute sessions on the trainer and do just fine listening to NPR -- prefer Fresh Air, Only A Game and, of course, Car Talk, but All Things Considered is ok in a pinch.
