    Hi Everyone,

I am coming to Washington, D.C. at the end of march and I would like to buy a triathlon bike. Does anyone indicates a triathlon shop or a bike shop ?

    Many thanks,

    Themistocles

Ask for Greg, tell them Keith recommended them.

Be prepared at Conte's though. We've taken to calling it "Van Cleef and Arpels." They have all the top stuff, but it is EXPENSIVE.

Other options would be Spokes, Etc., Revolution Cycles, The Bike Rack (they are heavily into tri stuff), and the Bicycle Pro Shop.

For disclosure purposes, I am a partner in November Bicycles. This fact probably colors everything I say. I'm clearly not to be trusted.

If money is no object, or if you are willing to pay for top service and selection, what Keith said. They will fit you, build it up, have Cervelo and lots of other brands and you will get what you want.

    Hi Tim,

Welcome to cycling and the forum. Some people here may react poorly to your post because you've jacked a thread and asked a question without providing enough information for us to give you a quality response. But I know your intentions were good.

I suggest you start a new thread. Tell us a little about what you plan to do with the bike: ride bike paths for fitness, commute, train for racing, get groceries, etcetera. Tell us your height and weight so that we don't recommended something that is too fragile or uncomfortable or unnecessarily heavy. While you say cost is no bar, quality bikes can be had in the range of several hundreds to many thousands of dollars. Give us a target price or range and we'll steer you in the right direction!
