Hi,
I am wondering for the bike course in Ironman or Ironman 70.3, are athletes required to ride either a road bike or tri bike? Would a mountain bike or a
hybrid bike disqualify the athlete? Is there a specific rule regarding what
kind of bike could be used in the event?
Assuming this athlete works, trains hard and capable to finish the course but just don't have a budget to buy a new bike. Would you think an athlete riding a non-road or non-tri bike competing in these events considered disgraceful or tarnishing the sportsmanship of this sport?
